Connect an AI assistant
Cargoplot runs an MCP server, so an AI assistant can look things up in Cargoplot for you: which of our shipments to Rotterdam are delayed?, what does invoice 2026-0412 cover?, has the container for our last inquiry left port? It uses the same public API as your integrations, as you, and only reads.
Add it to your assistant with the server URL:

You need no token and nothing to install. The assistant sends you to Cargoplot's sign-in page, and you approve the connection there.
Adding it
- Claude. Add a custom connector under Customize → Connectors and give it
the URL. On a Team or Enterprise plan an Owner adds it once, under
Organization settings, for everyone. In Claude Code, run
claude mcp add --transport http cargoplot https://mcp.cargoplot.comand sign in with/mcp. - ChatGPT. Turn on developer mode and add the URL as a connector.
- Other MCP clients. Anything that speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP and signs in
with OAuth works the same way. The server publishes where to sign in at
https://mcp.cargoplot.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource.
Signing in
The first time a tool is used, the assistant opens Cargoplot's sign-in page. Sign in with your Cargoplot account and approve the request to access Cargoplot on your behalf. The assistant keeps the connection until you remove it.
Sign in to the Cargoplot app itself at least once before connecting an assistant. An account the assistant is the first to use is refused, with a message saying so.
What it can do
The assistant reads what you can read in the app, for your own organization:

It cannot change anything: it raises, updates and cancels nothing, and it cannot download document or invoice files. It answers in pages of 20, and asks for more when it needs them.
Limits
An assistant's calls count against your rate limit, the same one your access tokens share. A long conversation that looks through many shipments can reach it; the assistant is told when to try again.
Disconnecting
Remove the connector in your assistant. Its sign-in stops working within the hour, when the access it holds expires, and connecting again asks you to sign in and approve it anew.
Your assistant's provider sees what the tools return, as it sees anything else you share in a conversation. Connect only an assistant your company allows for its shipping data.
